Summer Fun in the Mountains....

We're enjoying a stretch of hot summery weather here in the Loon area! Cool off with a breathtaking dip in the Pemi River- or enjoy some of the local activities this weekend:

Saturday, July 17th- S'mores by the Campfire- 7:00 pm-8:30 pm (weather permitting) at South Peak Riverside Terrace Firepit area. Toast your own dessert and mingle with your South Peak Resort neighbors!

Friday, July 16th and Saturday, July 17th- the Papermill Theatre presents 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" (opening night was Wednesday with rave reviews!) curtain at 7:30pm. Governor Adams Lodge at Loon. visit www.papermilltheatre.org for more info.
CHILDREN'S THEATRE- Every Saturday throughout the summer 9:30 a.m. in the Governor's Lodge. This Saturday, July 17th "The Fisherman and His Wife".

Saturday, July 17th- Part of Loon's Summer Entertainment Series-Enjoy music by 'Pay the Piper' in the Octagon Lodge at 7pm. No cover (shows are 21+) check out www.loonmtn.com for more info.

DID YOU KNOW..... if you already purchased a New England Ski Pass for the 2010-2011 season you can ride the Gondola all Summer/Fall for Free? Have lunch at the summit, visit the Artisans Village or look for lost gold in the caves. There is a lot of fun at the top of the mountain!

Independence Day Weekend

Enjoy the many festivities in the Loon area scheduled this July 4th weekend!

Sunday, July 4th - LOON MOUNTAIN RACE- Part of the New England Trail running series. 6.2 miles up through the trails at Loon. Visit www.whitemountainmilers.com for more info.

Sunday, July 4th- for more detail on activities, check out the Chamber of Commerce site at www.lincolnwoodstock.com . Schedule of events for the day:

10:00 a.m.- Family games at the Kanc Recreation Area in Lincoln, followed by a family BBQ

2:00 p.m.- The Parade begins at Alpine Village in North Woodstock and travels on Rt 112 through Lincoln to the Rivergreen Hotel.

7:00 p.m.- Live Concert of Patriotic Music by St. Johnsbury Band at the bandstand in Soldiers Park, North Woodstock.

9:30 p.m.- FIREWORKS DISPLAY- Downtown Lincoln. Some nice viewing areas are Hobo Railroad parking area in Lincoln or behind The Village Shops.

REMINDERS:

The Children's Theatre performs in Lincoln every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Governor's Lodge at Loon and every Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (July 3 is Little Red Riding Hood and July 7 & 10 is Goldilocks and the Three Bears- Tix are $6). The Papermill Theatre's Opening Night Gala is Wednesday, July 14th. For more information on performances & schedules or to make a pledge, please visit www.papermilltheatre.org. The productions are performed in the Governor's Lodge this season while Jean's Playhouse is under construction.
